ABOUT THE SHELL:

The shell is made of a 50/50 blend of Carbon Fiber and Kevlar 29 (ballistic quality) with woven and mat fiberglass. The resin is a high strength vinylester which combined with the material at an exact resin to fiber ratio making the helmet incredibly strong. This exclusive and unique combination of materials is produced exclusively for Skull Crush by the talented engineers at Composite Craft.

ABOUT THE INTERIOR:

The liner is made of a material called Ensolite; an energy absorbing foam originally developed by NASA to protect pressure vessels from damage. It has virtually 100% memory and is waterproof. This foam is much more impact resistant compared to the common foam liners used in most helmets. If necessary, the removable cushioned sizing pads can be cut for a custom fit or removed altogether.

This combination of shell, liner, and Ensolite foam along with the manufacturing process make the Six Shooter one of the strongest and lightest helmets on the market.

ABOUT THE STRAP CONNECTION:

For a strap connection, you have a choice of either steel D-Rings or a Military Spec Quick Disconnect as with every component of this helmet. Both connectors are made of high strength and durability.

IS THIS D.O.T APPROVED?

Although this is an extremely durable helmet, it is not D.O.T. approved. Skull Crush assumes no liability in the event of an accident. Due to its small shell and very low profile it will not be considered for any type of rating (not big enough).

IS IT SAFE?

Take a moment to research the strength, capabilities, and durability of carbon fiber and Kevlar. Try to imagine both materials woven together in an ultra-tight ballistic blend and used to make a protective shell. The Six Shooter helmet has a low profile, energy absorbing, Ensolite memory foam instead of a cheesy Styrofoam and terry cloth liner like other helmets. You be the judge.

SIZING TIP: Take a measuring tape starting at your forehead, about an inch above your eyebrows or the thickest part of your head, and go around your head measuring in inches. When at the online store, click the size drop down menu for the corresponding size / inches. If you are more towards the end of a size range, go with the larger size. Hat sizes are irrelevant when measuring for a helmet.
